While the two programs vary in focus, both WhyTry and Resilience Breakthrough were developed to help youth achieve a resilient mindset.  A resilient mindset allows youth and individuals of all ages to purse worthwhile goals with grit and thrive in moments of challenge and adversity. What some students lack, others make up in resilience.

The WhyTry PRogram

The WhyTry Program is a resilience education curriculum that provides simple, hands-on solutions for dropout prevetion, violence prevention, truancy reduction, and increased academic success.

The WhyTry curriculum engages students with a series of ten visual analogies that teach important life skills (e.g., decisions have consequences, dealing with peer pressure, obeying laws and rules, plugging into support systems). It can be effectively taught in an hour-long small group session or in a ten-minute homeroom environment.

 Resilience For Youth

We've identified four sources of resilience that help every person in a school -- students, teachers, and staff -- identify where resilience is found and how to access it. The strategies in this engaging new program will transform the way you and your students view life's challenges.

Resilience for Youth uses the same multisensory approach as the WhyTry Program - including learning activities, journals, music, video, and more.
