When Parents Struggle, Students Struggle:
How Schools Can Work Better with Parents & Families
Taking a moment to reflect on this school year
As another school year comes to a close, many educators are reflecting on the growing challenges students are carrying into school every day.
Behavior issues. Attendance struggles. Mental health concerns. Emotional regulation challenges. Disengagement. Family stress.
In many cases, schools are working hard to support students while also navigating difficult or strained relationships with parents and caregivers who may themselves be overwhelmed, struggling, or unsure how to help.
The reality is that schools and families both want students to succeed — but working together effectively is not always easy.
