Funding WhyTry (and Beyond): How to Strengthen Your Education Grant Proposals
Unlock New Funding Opportunities for Your School
Looking to expand or sustain your programs through grant funding?
You’re not alone. Every school and district is feeling the pressure to do more with less—and grants can be a powerful way to bring lasting support to the programs that matter most.
Join WhyTry’s Jason Johnson and Jeff Lynch from the Tulare County Office of Education for a practical, experience-based discussion on how to write stronger, more competitive grant proposals. Drawing on years of experience identifying, applying for, and managing multiple education grants, they’ll share real-world insights into what works—and what doesn’t—when it comes to securing funding.

You’ll discover how schools and districts are successfully writing WhyTry and other student support programs into local, state, and federal grants, along with practical strategies any educator or grant writer can use to improve their proposals. Learn how to connect your program outcomes to funding priorities, communicate impact in ways that resonate with reviewers, and build sustainable initiatives that last beyond a single grant cycle.

You’ll Learn How To:
- Connect your program goals to the funding priorities reviewers care about
- Communicate your impact through stories and data that stand out
- Build sustainability plans that help your program last beyond a single grant cycle
- Avoid common pitfalls that weaken otherwise strong proposals
This isn’t your typical grant-writing workshop—it’s an energizing, real-world discussion packed with practical examples, clear takeaways, and tools you can use right away.
