Meet our Panelists

Hans Magleby

Hans Magleby is the co-founder of WhyTry and creator of the WhyTry Program, a practical toolkit used in thousands of schools and districts across the U.S. and internationally to help motivate and engage students and build resilience. A former teacher with over 20 years of experience in training and educational consulting, Hans specializes in student engagement and educator support. With a background in fine art, technology, and instructional design, he brings a creative approach to equipping educators with practical strategies and resources to build strong teacher-student relationships and foster resilience in the classroom.

Ashley Wright

Ashley is a passionate educator and student advocate. She currently works as a school counselor in Conroe ISD, Texas. She has been an educator for 13 years and is currently employed in Conroe Independent School District in Conroe, Texas.  She recently received the 2019 “Elementary School Counselor of the Year” for Texas School Counselor Association and serves on the TSCA board as an Emerging Leader.  Last but not least, she LOVVVES school counseling!

Bruce Bushnell

Bruce Bushnell is an award-winning school counselor who has dedicated his career to promoting youth success. Named Utah’s Counselor of the Year and honored at the White House for his impactful interventions, Bruce has held leadership roles in several state and regional counseling associations. A longtime advocate of the WhyTry Program, he now delivers dynamic keynotes and trainings nationwide. Bruce has also played a central role in developing many of WhyTry’s hands-on activities that help students build the skills they need to succeed.
