Christian Moore, LCSW

Christian Moore is an internationally-renowned speaker, licensed clinical social worker, and advocate for youth. He is the author of The Resilience Breakthrough: 27 Tools for Turning Adversity into Action. He was a commencement speaker in the School of Education at John Hopkins University and spoke at a White House convening for the Reach Higher Initiative.

Christian found his passion in social work. He created the WhyTry Program, which has been implemented in over 25,000 organizations. Christian has flown over 6 million miles and reached over 3 million kids. 

Christian’s engaging style combines humor and research with a powerful personal journey. He consistently earns the highest ratings at conferences and events.

Hans Magleby

Hans Magleby

Hans Magleby is the president and founder of WhyTry and creator of the WhyTry Program with Christian Moore. Hans is an experienced public speaker, with over 16 years as a presenter, trainer, and consultant. Hans frequently speaks to audiences of educators, administrators, counselors, and mental health professionals as well as probations officers and corrections staff.

Hans has a diverse background in technology, education, and business. As the art director for a video game company, he developed a passion for using technology to teach and engage youth. Hans later started Freeservers, a successful Internet company that grew rapidly to support and service over 2 million customers. Since selling Freeservers to About.com, Hans has been dedicated to the growth and mission of WhyTry, developing practical tools to teach resilience and motivate youth.

Bonnie Hubert, LPC

Bonnie Hubert, LPC

Bonnie Hubert has spent 18 years working in the education and mental health fields. Her degrees include a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Spanish and Master’s degrees in both Educational Leadership and Counseling. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and holds a Doctorate of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.  

Bonnie has facilitated the implementation of the WhyTry curriculum in grades PK-12 as well as in alternative and correctional settings. Her ability to communicate and connect with youth and adults makes her a highly sought after speaker and presenter.

Kemy Joseph

Kemy Joseph

Kemy provides highly engaging and empowering presentations for groups of all ages and diverse backgrounds. As a conference presenter, he specializes in Equity and Inclusion, Bridging the Millennial Gap, and Building a Culture of TRUST.

Kemy has facilitated successful implementations of the WhyTry Program across the country. He’s also a Motivational Hip Hop Artist.

Jeff Griffin, M.Ed

Jeff Griffin, M.Ed

As an ordinary man living life from a wheelchair, Jeff has accomplished some extraordinary things. He played in the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece, and is a silver medalist for the USA men’s wheelchair basketball team. Griff is a national champion who played for the Utah Wheelin’ Jazz and is a four-time All-Star MVP. He was the number one men’s wheelchair tennis player in the state of Utah, won the St. George Marathon, has two Guinness Book of World Records, and is the author of the award-winning book I’Mpossible: Desire. Dream. Do.

Jeff holds a Master’s in Education, specializing in Curriculum Development and Instructional Design. He’s led successful WhyTry implementations at K-12 organizations around the country.

Gina Hales, LCSW

Gina Hales, LCSW

Gina Hales is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership Foundations. She has worked in a variety of settings, including the Children’s Unit of the Utah State Hospital, Division of Child and Family Services, and at her local public mental health center as a therapist. She worked in the School-based Services Division and the New Vista program with behavior-disordered youth. 

Gina has led successful implementations of WhyTry in corrections, juvenile justice, and education.

Bruce Bushnell

Bruce Bushnell

For 26 years, Bruce Bushnell has centered his career around promoting youth success. This career began as a high school counselor, where Bruce devoted his time and expertise as a member of the Executive High School Relations Board, senior vice president of the Alpine Counseling Association, and vice president of the Utah Counselor Association.

Bruce now helps youth succeed by presenting passionate WhyTry keynotes and trainings across the country. As an advocate of the program from its earliest days, Bruce is also the creator of many of the WhyTry learning activities, which are proven to help youth develop the social and emotional skills necessary to reach their goals.

Jason Johnson, Ed.S

Jason Johnson, Ed.S

Jason Johnson earned his Ed.S degree in School Psychology and worked in Utah’s public education system as a licensed school psychologist. He has experience working in the elementary, middle and high school environments-and specialized in resilience. His graduate research on adolescent resilience was published in a peer-reviewed journal.

Jason is a thought leader on resilience education and has spoken at hundreds of conferences around the country. He has led successful implementations of all WhyTry programs and has pioneered trainings for clients in healthcare, corporate, and the US Military.

Cory Anderson

Cory Anderson

Cory Anderson started working in education in 2001, teaching English to Spanish speaking students at the local elementary. For the next three years, he used his Spanish skills to help those students and their parents acclimatize to the US.

After obtaining a Master’s, Cory worked as an assistant principal at Centennial Middle School. In 2011, Cory became the Principal of Westridge Elementary. While there, he pioneered and started one of two public STEM programs in the state of Utah and helped consult with the state office on creating STEM standards for schools that would eventually be adopted by the STEM action center. 

In 2015 Cory moved to Bella Vista Elementary school as principal to oversee behavioral units and lead the school, implementing social and emotional programs and STEM activities. 
In 2019, Cory joined WhyTry, after using its social and emotional tools for close to ten years in his administrative duties.
