“A few years ago, I heard one of the most powerful keynotes I’ve ever heard in my life from a group called WhyTry. We not only have incorporated WhyTry in our national summits every year, but I would recommend that every conference across America have WhyTry as their keynote presentation.” -Darrell Scott, Founder, Rachel’s Challenge

"Why Try has been an invaluable resource for my students for the last 4 years. The visual analogies paired with the music, videos, learning activities, and journals seem to impact and allow my students to really grasp the concepts. As a teacher for students with emotional disabilities for the last 21 years I searched for a program that would “stick” with my students and allow them to implement the strategies. This is the program! One of my favorite quotes from one of my students the first year I was teaching WhyTry was “ Mrs. Pettibone I am so stuck in the flood zone. Can you throw me a lifeline?”. I knew I was making an impact. Thank you WhyTry staff and Christian Moore. You continue to be an invaluable resource for my classroom." - Julie Pettibone

Jill Porter, NY

“[The training] was amazing, wonderful, powerful, inspiring and emotional. It was the best training I have ever been to. If I could have I would have sat through 2 more weeks of it... I learned so much about myself and my baggage during the 2 days that at the end of the second day, I got into my car to go home and I just started crying uncontrollably. It was so emotional, things now made so much sense. I woke up this morning feeling peaceful and energized.” - Jill Porter, Probation Officer, Suffolk County, New York

I have already implemented several activities in my class and shared an activity with my colleagues in a staff inservice day. Thanks again for the wonderful training!” - Karyn Messler, High School Teacher, California

“Very, very well done and organized, this program is incredibly complete and well thought out, masterfully scope and sequenced, it’s all here, totally visual and participatory. There is a very solid base to this “pyramid.” If presented to kids (with full fidelity) we will see them attain greater success.” -Spencer Robinson, Teacher, Farmington Bay Youth Center, Farmington, Utah

“Typically, the district trainings are ho-hum, but this was perhaps the best and most useful training. I feel motivated to change my facilitating.” - Giovonna Dean, Academic Coach, Mesa View Elementary School, Chinle, AZ

"Why Try provides an opportunity for students to look at their situation in a different way. Although I have only had limited opportunities to work with students using Why Try, I have seen working through the activities help students to see their way out instead of being stuck. The visuals really help them to process the decisions they make differently and conclude that there are choices. My students see through things that are “fake”; they see that Why Try is “real”. From a selfish standpoint, I teach in a computer lab, and it gives me the opportunity to experience students in an interactive environment. I am currently working on setting up a Why Try program at a 240 acre camp next summer. I see so many possible benefits in combining Why Try and outdoor education." -Joy Miller, Northwest Alternative High School, Jackson, MI
Susan Arnink, NM
